So I hit my head and made a movie about it. Only I didn’t think anyone besides my friends would ever see it, and it went on to become one of the most widely-shown short films of all time. The short won the Spirit of Slamdance Award, Best Comedy at Aspen Shortsfest, and went on to play more than 200 film festivals. It qualified for Academy Award Consideration, played out of competition at Cannes, and was included in a British Film Institute retrospective entitled “The Most Influential Short Films of the Past Decade.” Not too shabby!
