I’m an award-winning MENA director, producer, editor, and California-licensed private investigator specializing in telling emotional, cinematic stories about the triumphs of everyday people. My adventures have taken me into burning buildings with America’s busiest firefighters, stranded me in an unmarked minefield in Alaska, sent me on tour with notorious rappers Insane Clown Posse, and into lava caves deep underground with David Cross. I’ve also directed Paris Hilton, which is the only shoot that still gives me nightmares.

My past short films and features have played more than 500 film festivals, from Sundance to Cannes, been released theatrically worldwide, and won more than 50 major awards including two Spirit Awards, the Grand Jury Prize at the SXSW Film Festival, and the Audience Award at the Tribeca Film Festival.

I’ve directed show opens for CBS as well as campaigns and branded content for Ford, Kimberly-Clark, LG Electronics, Activision/Blizzard, Warner Bros, Dreamworks, General Motors, MSA, numerous fire departments and health care providers, and many others.

My documentary features include producing and directing the Detroit firefighting film BURN, one of the highest-grossing documentaries in history; the sequel, BURN X; producing the critically-acclaimed MARWENCOL; and producing, directing, and editing THE UNITED STATES OF INSANITY.

My most recent fiction feature, the comedy/adventure THE DARK DIVIDE starring David Cross and Debra Messing, with music by The Avett Brothers and Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic, was the first feature film from REI Co-Op Studios.

All five films have a perfect 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

My short films include the notorious bigfoot movie BROADCAST 23 (Fox Searchlight), which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and TOM HITS HIS HEAD (HBO / PBS), an official selection of more than 200 film festivals and one of the most widely-seen short films of all-time.

I’m a graduate of the University of Southern California with degrees in Cinematic Arts and Journalism, and I have a Master of Business Administration from St. Mary’s University. In my less exciting pre-filmmaking life, I was an executive at Saban Entertainment, Fox, and ABC.

I also consult and distribute independent films in partnership with Sonder Entertainment and during the pandemic I grew an extremely itchy beard.

Yep, that’s me (beard not pictured).
